Why do I need to pay for a listing when so much on the Internet is free and what do I get for my money?
Firstly. you don't need to pay just to browse the Web Site. You only need to pay if you are promoting yourself or your Organisation - in other words it is a Marketing or Advertising fee.

You will get the following benefits:

Your own dedicated page that is available for anyone with an Internet connection, anywhere in the World to view 24 hours a day, all year round.
You get a link to a detailed map (using www.multimap.co.uk) to assist visitors to get to your premises (provided that you supply a valid UK Postcode)
You get inclusive email and telephone support during normal office hours
Only 3 clicks to get to your page, then one more to your gallery or your own Web Site where you can market yourself
Space permitting, we are more than happy to run a Front Page article on the Home page - for example in the run-up to a specific event in order to generate early interest.
Links directly to the Website from other websites within our Network benefitting you from the cross-advertising that this produces.

Managed updates. If you publish a programme at regular intervals, and you do not wish to enter the details into the calendar yourself, we can do this for you
Your own Web Site within Art Matters. e.g. www.artmatters.co.uk/MyName would take visitors to your Web Site (either your own, or we could develop you one). You would also get your own email address e.g. MyName@artmatters.co.uk that you can use to send and receive email.
Your own Gallery where you can advertise up to 12 items of your choosing.

Compare Art Matters to the limitations that printed advertising presents:

Printed media is time limited, whether it's a daily, weekly or monthly periodical. Your Art Matters fee lets you publish 24 hours a day for a whole year

Can you design me a Web Site?
Yes of course! Contact us for an initial no obligation chat and we'll take it from there. You can have a Web Site in your own right e.g. MySite.co.uk or you can be part of the Art Matters site with an address of artmatters.co.uk/MySite and your own Art Matters email address e.g me@artmatters.co.uk

Why am I not getting emails?
Some Internet Service Providers filter emails to prevent users receiving excess spam. Depending upon the rules that these filters use, some genuine emails may not get through. To ensure that emails from Art Matters get through, you need to add us to your list of trusted sites.

AOL: Place the domain artmatters.co.uk into your address book
Yahoo!: If one of our emails is filtered to your 'bulk' folder, open the message and click on the 'this is not Spam' link next to the 'From' field
Other email providers: Try adding a dummy Art Matters email to your address book e.g. 'test@artmatters.co.uk. Alternatively, look at the 'help' page on their website or contact Customer Services for a specific answer.
If you use a spam filter such as Cloudmark or SpamArrest, make sure that you can accept emails from us as well!

Please accept our apologies for the hassle. Spam is a big issue on the Internet and we accept that it has to be filtered, but how the filters do it is beyond our control.

My Details

What about adding links and images to my own details / gallery information?
Ah. Yes you can do this, but it's slightly tricky, so bear with us.

The tricky bit is finding out the address of the image or page. You will find life a lot easier if you have two copies of your browser running. One copy on the Art Matters page and one copy on the page that you want to copy (or the page that has the image you wish to copy)

1. Getting two copies of the browser running.

Mozilla Firefox	Click 'file' then 'new tab'
Opera	Click 'file' then 'new page'

Leave the original browser page on the Art Matters page that you are editing and with the new browser page, find the page that you want to link to (or the page that has the image that you want to link to)

2. Getting the address of the page or the image. Go to section 2.1 OR 2.2 as appropriate

2.1 Page

If you go to the Web page that you want to link to, then the address will appear in the box at the top of your browser. If you cannot see a box labelled 'address' with the address of the web page in it, follow the appropriate instructions for your browser.

Mozilla Firefox	Click 'view' then 'toolbars' then 'navigaton toolbar'
Opera	Click 'view' then 'toolbars' then 'address bar'

Now you have the address visible in the address toolbar, click your mouse just ONCE inside the address toolbar. This will highlight the whole address. If it does not, then click your mouse at the very end of the address, hold the mouse button down and drag the cursor to the beginning of the address. This will highlight the whole address. Make sure you don't miss any part of the address. It is all important, including the http:// at the beginning!

Now you need to copy the highlighted address

Now go to step 3

2.2 Image

Firstly go to the web page that has the image that you want to link to. Then we need to find and copy the address of the image. Find the image and hover your cursor over it.

Internet Explorer	Right click your mouse, click 'properties' then where it says 'Address (URL)' use your mouse to click at the end of the address, then hold the mouse button down and drag the cursor back to the beginning of the address. This should highlight it all. Now Right click your mouse and choose 'copy'
Mozilla Firefox	Right click your mouse, then select 'copy image location'
Opera	Right click your mouse, then select 'copy image address'

3. Finally, you need to paste the page or the image address into the box in your personal details.

Change back to the Art Matters 'my details' page. Click your mouse where you want to place the address. (Note: On the 'details' page, use the backspace button to delete anything that is in there already (for example 'http://')
